Step 1
First, which number do you have
When a lookup returns nothing, it is usually not a typo. That number was never going to resolve there.
Master B/L
- Issued by
- Issued by the carrier
- Format
- 4-letter carrier code + digits
- Where it works
- The carrier's own site
Vessel schedule and container movement are tracked with this number.
Container number
- Issued by
- Assigned by the container owner
- Format
- 4 letters + 7 digits (e.g. ABCU1234567)
- Where it works
- Carrier site · terminal
The last digit is a check digit. One wrong character and the lookup fails.
